There are many problems with Detroit. Aside from the Lions and Tigers doing poorly (again) this season, there are bigger problems affecting the community. One of these being health inequity. Health equity, or the ability for everyone to achieve the highest levels of health. In an ideal society, everyone should have a fair opportunity to attain their full health potential and no one should be disadvantaged from achieving this potential.

Detroit has suffered in the last decade with economic turmoil and with that came additional problems like health inequity.

This site will lead you through multiple experiments I have conducted, centered around exploring health inequity in Detroit. This site will also explore some additional problems that have led to a further divide in healthiness.

WHO IS GABRIEL BOUDAGH?

I am a student at the University of Michigan majoring in Cellular & Molecular Biology, minoring in Writing, as well as taking a pre-med track. This site is meant to showcase the three experiments I had conducted during Writing 220, as well as the final project for the course.

The experiments and the final project are meant to highlight a certain theme that I enjoy talking about. For this case, I decided to discuss Public Health, a topic that isn't discussed as much as it should be. I was inspired to learn more about Public Health after working with the JSCDC in Southfield, Michigan. It was there where I learned about the differences in health between races and genders. I found it difficult to absorb but easy to understand that something had to be done.

As I said earlier, this site showcases some of my experiments and my final project.

Enjoy,

Gabriel Boudagh
